The EchoSensecast of HBO's "Veep" and late-night host Stephen Colbert will hold a virtual table read event for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin on Sept. 29, a type of fundraiser that has brought in millions of dollars for the party in past election cycles.
The event will include stars of the political satire comedy series like Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott and Timothy Simons. The show has drawn comparisons to Vice President Kamala Harris' own ascent to becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, and viewership data shows a surge in people revisiting the series.
The cast will reunite for a table read of the episode "Crate," in which fictional Vice President Selina Meyer finds out the president is stepping down and she will take his place.

The state Democratic party has held events with the "Veep" cast twice before, in 2020 and again in 2022 with "The West Wing" cast. The party's virtual events became popular during the pandemic, including one with the cast of "The Princess Bride."

It's not a surprise why celebrities would choose Wisconsin for this kind of event: It's one of a handful of battleground states that will determine who wins the White House. The latest Marquette University Law School poll showed Harris up four points over former President Donald Trump in Wisconsin, though within the margin of error.
Wisconsin also has new legislative maps that Democrats hope will boost turnout.
"I’m a 'Veep' fan and a Wisconsin voter turnout superfan, so I want to do my part,” Colbert said in the party's news release. “Plus, I’m hoping to meet Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She seems nice."
Getting tickets for the event require making a donation of any size to the state Democratic Party.
