Oops!... Blake Lively did it again.
The Gossip Girl alum stunned on the red carpet alongside husband Ryan Reynolds for the New York City premiere of her movie It Ends With Us on Aug. 6 in a look that took inspiration from none other than Britney Spears.
As for how her 'fit paid tribute to legendary pop star? Blake rocked the same gown—adorned with green, pink and purple jewels and a gorgeous blue one-shoulder strap detail—that Britney wore to Versace's Spring/Summer fashion show in Milan back in 2002. And to complete her twinning moment, the 36-year-old opted for a few silver statement rings and wore her blonde hair in long loose waves similar to how the "Toxic" singer originally styled her own locks.
And the honor of wearing an iconic Britney look was not lost on Blake.
"Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years, that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength and joy and immensely hard work," the A Simple Favor actress wrote in an Aug. 6 Instagram Story alongside a throwback photo of the singer wearing the ensemble. "Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories."
Noting that Britney was the "ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories," Blake closed out her tribute by adding that she is "so excited" for what the Grammy winner has in store for the future.
Of course, Blake—who shares daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, and son Olin, born in 2023, with Ryan—wasn't the only one in her family who arrived dressed to impress for the premiere, which was also attended by costars Justin Baldoni, Jenny Slate and Brandon Sklenar, as well as It Ends With Us author Colleen Hoover.
Ryan also turned heads during their date night in a coordinating green suit and white button-down shirt. And to top off his look, the Marvel actor pinned a pink corsage to his lapel that matched the shade of pink in his wife's getup.
But the 47-year-old did more than just walk the red carpet to show his support for Blake's new project. He was also part of the film's creative process.
"The iconic rooftop scene," Blake told E! News at the Aug. 6 premiere, "my husband actually wrote it."
Acknowledging that they always "help each other," she added, "He works on everything I do. I work on everything he does. So, his wins—his celebrations—are mine and mine are his."
