Kevin Hart is sharing the story behind why he's in a wheelchair for the time being.
Hart detailed the injuries that landed him there, which stemmed from a foot race to settle an argument, in a video Thursday on Instagram.
He recounted his bet against former NFL player and friend Stevan Ridley that he could outrun him in a 40-yard dash in an expletive-laden video that unpacked the situation – and the extent of his injuries.
"We get out there, we go run the 40-yard dash," Hart said, adding he "blew" out everything. "Tore my lower abdomen, my abductors. I don't even know what that is, but I tore them. I tore those too. I can't walk. … This is 44."
Hart continued, saying he's now in a wheelchair for trying to do "young man stuff."
"Ladies and gentleman, the age 40 is real," Hart said in the video. "All my men, women out there 40 years old and above, it's not a game. Respect that age."

"I got to be the dumbest man alive!!!!!" he wrote in the caption of the video. "I'm done."
Celebrity friends weighed in on the situation in the comments, some laughing and some offering up words of support.
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson wrote he "tore my adductor off my pelvis during a wrestling match. True story. You’ll be fine. You’ll grow a 3rd ball but you’ll be fine."

Steve Harvey joked, "Welp if it will make you feel better at 66 I don’t even have abs or adductors, just use your stomach."
Tracee Ellis Ross offered up a "so sorry" and Jamie Foxx shared a "get well soon" message, both amid many laughing emojis.
Ridley reposted Hart's video and shared his own response about the situation. "It's really not my fault," he said. "Alright Kev, I've got to give it to you. You're a comedian, everybody knows it. You're a competitor, you're an athlete. … Truth of the matter is you were feeling yourself – I tried to warn you."
"Minor setback for a major comeback," Ridley wrote in the caption.
Hart suffered a "major" back injury in the 2019 crash of his vintage muscle car in the hills above Malibu, California.
Hart was a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when it drove off Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment around 12:45 a.m. local time, according to a California Highway Patrol collision report obtained at the time by USA TODAY.
