The West Coast National Park near Cape Town, South Africa, is usually a sanctuary for wildlife, but its Atlantic Ocean beaches were anything but a safe haven for three helpless seal pups.
The animals became entangled in fishing nets, stranding them on the shore. Luckily, help was at hand. Beachgoers, who’d come to the park for a family picnic, raced to the aid of the struggling seals, cutting away the nets and setting the pups free.
